When: Every second Wednesday of the month starting at 6:30 pm.

What: A 6-8 page short story or excerpt from a book is read out loud followed by an open discussion in English.
When: Every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

What: A book is read at home beforehand and then discussed in English at the library.

What: Stories are read out loud, sometimes followed by a small craft or activity or game.
When: Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday starting at 4 pm.

Reading Time (Ages 6 & Up)
What: A story is read out loud followed by a craft or fun activity having something to do with the story.
When: Twice a month on Friday afternoons starting at 4:30 p.m.

TeenTime (Grade 5 and Up)
What: An event for those in the fifth grade and up. Past TeenTimes have included crafts for teens, Dungeons and Dragons and just chilling with your friends.
When: Once or twice a month on a Friday starting at 4:30 p.m. usually on the same days as Stories for Kids Ages 6 & Up.

Library Events for Everyone
The Knit &Lit
What: Join fellow yarn enthusiasts for a relaxing afternoon of knitting or working on your own favorite portable craft project. Pleasant conversation in English and German, and a cup of tea or coffee round out the program.
Please bring your own craft project.
When: The last Saturday of the month from 2 to 4 pm. However, there are some deviations, so please check the calendar for the next scheduled time.
Sign up requested, but not mandatory.
Tea Time
Join us for a cuppa at the American Library!
Relax and enjoy your tea with a scrumptious scone or cucumber sandwich. Listen to a few short stories or poems read aloud in English. In between, partake in pleasant conversation with your neighbors.
Sign up is mandatory as space is limited.
Twice a year - keep you eyes open for the posters at the library or on our event calendar.
Book & Bake Sale
The semiannual Book and Bake Sale is a great opportunity to find new and old books at great prices, have a taste of homemade cakes and other goodies and support the library.
All proceeds go to purchasing new media for the library.
Held in the Spring and Fall on a Saturday during regular opening hours.

Singalong Concert
Once a year oldies but goodies are performed by Andy Riedinger, Tom Fischer and J.S. Schmidt, aka "Baton Rouge."
Feel free to tap and sing along (don’t worry, text provided) and join us for a glass of Kentucky Bourbon or a non-alcoholic beverage during intermission.
Christmas Carol Singing
This annual event before Christmas is a family-friendly relaxed way to begin the holiday season. Songs are sung together (texts provided), and the tree is decorated, followed by cookies, punch and socializing.
